Luxury villas in the second phase of the Baybridge Canal Waterfront Villas complex in The Islands Estate at Hartbeespoort Dam.

The second phase of the Baybridge Canal Waterfront Villas complex, which is located in the Islands Estate at Hartbeespoort Dam, has been announced.

“The first phase of this exclusive development sold out in just four months, and this phase is already attracting much attention from prospective owners,” said Iris Venter, area specialist for the Chas Everitt International property group. “It consists of just nine full-title homes, all with direct canal frontage and all offering spectacular views of the surrounding Magaliesberg Mountains.

“These villas are selling at prices from R3,35m, which will buy you a luxury double-storey home of just over 200m2, with three bedrooms en-suite, a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/living area, covered outdoor entertainment area, pyjama lounge, separate scullery, guest facilities, double garage and deck overlooking the canal.

“There is also a range of bigger villas available with additional features and even separate guest suites, at prices up to R4,5m, inclusive of VAT.”

The Baybridge Canal Waterfront Villas complex in The Islands Estate at Hartbeespoort Dam are available from R3,35m to R4m inclusive of VAT.

The key feature of The Islands is the system of canals that meander between the luxury waterfront homes, and enable access to the Hartbeespoort Dam itself via two bi-directional water locks. The water in this system is kept pristine by being circulated through an artificial wetland system that consists of a series of interconnecting dams covered with water-loving plants and reeds.

Environmental protection is a major focus of the development as a whole and the estate not only provides for its own water needs but also recycles its waste water for irrigating the grass verges. Indigenous trees are protected and relocated if necessary and the wetlands and dams have become home to a wide variety of birds and other wildlife, as have the estate’s extensive parkland areas.
