The Chas Everitt Luxury Portfolio team has sold just under R100m worth of homes in areas such as Sandhurst, Hyde Park, and Houghton since the start of the year.
These properties include Cullinan House (pictured top), the historic Art Nouveau mansion in Houghton that the team listed for sale in November. It’s asking price was R9,998m and was sold to a South African professional for an amount very close to that, according to Rory O’Hagan, CEO of the new Chas Everitt International Luxury Portfolio division.
Other Johannesburg properties most recently sold by the Luxury Portfolio team in Hyde Park include a Saxonwold home sold for R10,8m, a cluster home on the Sandhurst/Hurlingham border that sold for R8,499m, a cluster home in Hyde Park for R7,9m, a Houghton Golf Estate home for R7,35m and two luxury apartments in Hyde Park for R6,9m each.
The Chas Everitt International property group launched its Luxury Portfolio division late last year following the group’s affiliation with the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® (LeadingRE) network and with Luxury Portfolio International®, the specialist peer-to-peer programme within LeadingRE for the brokers of ultra-luxury homes around the world.
“This affiliation enables us to collaborate directly with more than 500 premier real estate brokerages in 54 countries and thus to offer our clients the best access of any SA real estate company to the world’s wealthiest property investors,” says O’Hagan, who was the head of private banking services for Nedbank before switching to the luxury real estate sector.
“The value of this global access is clearly evident when one considers that many of the homes recently sold by our new Hyde Park team had been on the market for many months prior to Chas Everitt being given a mandate and were then sold within a matter of weeks.”
