A new phase of ‘life rights’ retirement units has been launched at the Plumstead Rusoord (PlumRus) development located in the tranquil suburb of Plumstead in the heart of the Constantia Valley.

This comes on the back of enormous demand for more retirement units in this very successful retirement development, according to Seeff Constantia agent, Kay Broughton.

On offer are 11 brand new, two-bedroomed apartments, each around 68sqm in size with an open-plan living area and kitchen as well as an undercover parking bay.

Each unit is equipped with a pre-paid electricity meter and the costs of electricity as well as insurance of the furniture and contents of each unit is for own account.

The apartments are all north facing with uninterrupted mountain views and are located on the first and second floors with a lift. There is also a choice of finishes.

The units are sold on a Life Rights basis, priced at R1,595m each. There is an additional monthly levy of R4,950 per person (R9,020 for two people). There is also a non-refundable administration fee of R15,000 plus VAT payable.

The levy payment covers aspects such as security, maintenance of the buildings and gardens, utilities such as water, emergency medical care, cleaning of the unit twice per week, weekly laundry, lunch daily, DSTV access point and basic bouquet of services, intercom and assistance service.

Residents also have access to top class healthcare facilities that include frail care and assisted living. The Constantiaberg Medi-Clinic is located next to the village.

Other facilities include a club house with a library and various spiritual and social activities and groups such as a weekly rummy club.

Other on-site facilities include a hairdresser, coffee shop, in-unit medical care, regular excursions and more, all for the own account of the resident.

A minimum age of fifty five applies. On death, the full capital paid is refunded to the estate.

Broughton says that the Plumstead Rusoord Retirement Village offers everything in one location that any retiree could want. Investing in this development means a carefree lifestyle with everything that you need including professional services and vital medical care right on hand.
