Sectional title corner – how many decimal points does a PQ make?

Q

The Sectional Titles Act states that participation quotas must be shown on the sectional plans to four decimal places. Why does mine only show three decimal places? Does that mean we have to redo our plans? – Anon

A

Hi Anon,

The Act 66 of 1971 said plans should have participation quotas to three decimal places. But when Act 95 of 1986 came into being (on 1 June 1988) it was changed to four decimal places.

Acts cannot be enforced retrospectively so all complexes registered before 1 June 1988 can have three decimal places and the plans do not have to be corrected.Trafalgar logo fc_pay off line
