Hoedspruit in Limpopo is attracting a lot of city dwellers and foreign investors in search of homes in a more relaxed setting. This is according to Annie van den Berg, broker/owner of RE/MAX Wildlife Properties, who said security estate living was in high demand.
One of the security estates that has been extremely popular among property buyers in the region is Raptor’s View Wildlife Estate.
“The estate is approximately 45 minutes from the Orpen gate of the Kruger National Park, Phalaborwa and the Panorama route (Pilgrims Rest, God’s Window, Sabie),” said van den Berg. “One of the first of its kind in the world, Raptor’s View offers secure living in a well-maintained wildlife estate, which is situated on some of the finest bushveld that South Africa has to offer. Not only is Raptor’s View a fantastic investment but also offers privacy and exclusivity with all the benefits of living on a secure wildlife estate.”
The 1,100ha estate only has 305 stands and is surrounded by game farms that are home to big game species. The estate is fully fenced in by electrified game fencing, and is patrolled 24-hours a day. To ensure minimum distraction from the natural beauty of the farm, all services to the sites such as Eskom, Telkom and municipal water are run underground.
Homes start from R2,3m while a 1ha stand sells from around R450,000.
“With the high demand experienced for these properties, I predict that investors who purchase now will double their money in a five-year window,” she said. “Raptor’s View Estate offers buyers the chance to own an appreciating asset as well as a small piece of African paradise.”
