PE’s luxury residential market a drawcard

Port Elizabeth is experiencing a growth in appetite for R2,5m+ homes thanks to massive investment in the city, notwithstanding the Coega Industrial Development Zone.

“Given the confidence being shown in our market by outside developers who see enormous potential and opportunity, I think our market is going to start playing catch up with other coastal destinations,” said Ian Olivier, area principal of Pam Golding Properties Port Elizabeth, noting that while Port Elizabeth has traditionally had a small appetite for properties in the R3m+ bracket, interest in prime homes was rising as professionals relocated from other provinces and cities to the suburbs.

What good news for people in the plus R3 Million category. Now at least we have something from Pam Golding to back us up. Thank you for this positive news.So tired of agents that are all doom and gloom.

Wish I could agree with your sentiments. Our house in Water Road, Walmer has been for sale since end of April at an asking price of R2.75 and to date no luck. Have been told by agents that the market is “dead”.
