Spring shake-up for your comfort food menu
The calendar says spring is here which, for the most part, means you can pack out your summer closet. But we all know spring also marks the start of rainy days or weeks which are best spent inside with a helping of your favourite comfort food.
As spring is an exciting time of rejuvenation and all things fresh I thought it would be good to challenge you to reinvent your comfort food go-to menu, with Easy Cooking’s help of course.
I can potter around in the kitchen all day, every day, but for those who do not like cooking, here are some easy, fast options to warm your belly: Creamy chicken with Mushroom Casserole or a Mexican Tomato Soup. Bring a bowl of nachos or warm fresh bread to the table and all are happy.
If meaty dishes are more your thing, get that stew pot out, pop a beef stew in the oven and you have at least 4 hours to do sweet nothings with.
Of course what will a menu of tried and trusted comfort foods be without something sweet? In cold rainy weather, a crumble will always be my top choice. With all the berries around, it is easy to make this delicious strawberry crumble.
Here’s to a spring filled with tasty days.
