Sectional title corner – Who has to pay the levy clearance certificate?
When a sectional title unit is in the process of being transferred to a new owner after a sale, a levy clearance certificate has to be obtained from the body corporate. There is usually a fee to be paid to the body corporate for this certificate. My question is who is responsible for this fee? The current owner (seller) or prospective new owner (buyer)? – Arron
Hi Arron, the certificate is to certify that the seller’s levies are up to date so it is my view that the seller must pay for it.
