Secunda gets its first retirement village

TERRA NOVA (4)Secunda’s first retirement village is on its way. Something Billy Fick, Seeff’s licensee for Secunda, said is a welcome addition to the local property market.

“We have never before had a retirement village and the closest used to be in Bethal, some 40km away from Secunda, so this is a very exciting development,” he said, noting that the needs for a village was great due to the fact that many people have lived their entire lives there and do not want to move away to retire.

Terra Nova Retirement Village, currently being built with the first occupiers expected to move in towards the end of 2017, replaces Davies Court – a block of flats that is old and semi-neglected, but affordable.

“Terra Nova Retirement Village will include a Curro-Health sub-acute hospital, medical assistance, dining hall with daily meals, functions hall, library, gymnasium and more,” said Fick. “There are various options with one-, two- and three-bedrooms to choose from. The options include full title as well as sectional title units and are priced from R550,000 (sectional title) to R1,8m (full title).”
