Umhlanga firmly in position as KZN’s most valuable property node
Between 2009 and 2013 alone the property value of greater Umhlanga increased by approximately R3,4bn , with a total value over the last 20 years increasing to a staggering R10bn.
“Umhlanga has become the province’s most noteworthy economic hub,” said Stefan Botha, CEO of Rainmaker Marketing at the Enigma Private Estate launch. “Not surprising considering the significant establishments already in the area and continued development adding to the value of the area.
According to Botha Umhlanga is definitely the most valuable node within KwaZulu-Natal, and South Africa as a whole with great value creation potential based on the future developments.
Examples of developments set for completion in the near future include the Umhlanga interchange which is likely to be completed around mid-to-end of 2018. A multi-use development, Umhlanga Arch, will be developed within Ridgeside bringing in a further R600m value to the area. Coupled with extravagant, high-end developments that have incorporated grand malls, such as Pearls Mall, which is estimated to bring R3bn in value to the area, as well as the Oceans Umhlanga development of R3,1bn.
