#TashaTests: Delicious Steri-Stumpie mousse

The only words you can use to describe this mousse are simply delicious. The bonus is that it is so easy to make. I came across this recipe on Facebook, and decided to #TashaTests it by making it for my family as a Sunday treat: Pancakes filled with chocolate Steri-Stumpie mousse; they loved it and asked me for it again the next weekend, and now this is the go to dessert for family get-togethers.

Ingredients:

mini marshmallows

  • 200g dark chocolate chopped up
  • 1 Steri-Stumpie
  • 100g small white marshmallows
  • 1 cup cream

The perfect weekend tea time treat


Method:

You need to start by melting the chopped up chocolates, marshmallows and the Steri-Stumpie together until smooth. Whip the cream, and fold in spoon for spoon with the chocolate mixture. Pour the mixture into your bowl or small ramekins and refrigerate for six hours.

You can serve the mousse as a dessert on its own or you can make the mousse the night before and leave to set for the night and then plan to use it as a filling or accompaniment

If you prefer a different flavour Steri-Stumpie, maybe strawberry or banana, all you need to do is take out the dark chocolate and instead cut up some strawberries and bananas, and instead of melting the strawberries and the bananas you can put them in a food processor and then mix with the Steri-Stumpie and marshmallow mixture.

This recipe serves four so if you plan on having more people over, and believe me when they taste this everyone will be coming over when they know you plan on making it, adjust the recipe to the amount of people you plan on making happy.

This delicious mousse, with everyone’s favourite treat as the star, is so easy to make it should be on everyone’s go-to list. The only potentially tricky thing is planning for the time needed to set – you need to plan that you want it and prepare it on time.

    Do you fold in the cream while chocolate mixture is still hot or cooled down?

    It would be pretty awesome if you would actually write out the recipe in its entirety. Leaving out key stages such as only add whipped cream when melted chocolate mix is cooled down is a fail. I went and wasted all my ingredients and money because you didn’t add this step and made it sound like you add when hot, which in hindsight makes zero sense, but that’s why people use recipes?!?!

    Sigh….
